Great performance, poor sound

I really enjoyed the performance, skill, musicality displayed by Joe and his band. And he had good humor and stories that made the concert even more enjoyable. I was very pleasantly surprised to hear the cover of Dazed and Confused in a medley, that he made his own that matched Jimmy Page and Led Zeppelin's recording/performance of that. I knock a star off the review because the sound system equipment used produced a lot of harsh distortion, aggravated by unnecessarily high sound level, to the point where some audience members around us in the upper section decided to leave, and my wife sent me out to the lobby to buy earplugs. That significantly detracted from the enjoyment. I think that his touring company should either rent or transport much better equipment to produce the cleaner sound of so many other rock/blues artist live concerts and exploit the superior acoustics of venues like the Paramount Theater...and have the mixing console producer dial back the gain a bit.
